Fall 2006,
In checking the web-site. I must apology for dropping the ball. I did not realize that my last correspondence was so long ago. That having been said, I hope you all had a restful summer. Thanks be to God, we have not had any major natural disasters to date. Gifts for which to be grateful. I have had some contact with folks in the “Katrina Zone”, and they are still only beginning to rebuild. Thoughts and prayers are very mush appreciated.
Here in “Chicagoland”, we have begun a new year with two surprising announcements about all male Catholic high schools. Notre Dame for Boys will no longer have the Holy Cross Priests sponsoring it, and Quigley High School (formally a seminary prep school) will close in June. Sad news for the boys of Chicago. Notre Dame will become an archdiocesan high school.
I pray that you opened with great joy at the prospect of a new year in which to make a difference in the lives of young women. Our initial meeting is on October 11 at Resurrection High School. I would encourage you to try to gather other girls’ schools together in your area if at all possible. This comes out of a gathering held at the NCEA last spring. We had a great exchange of ideas. It also gives various entities of our schools to come together to share ideas.
In our geographic area, our Deans, librarians, campus ministers, physics teachers have met yearly. They have benefited in a number of ways from the interchange. This could grow in many different ways, and we would love to have you share your ideas and new findings.
Continue to have a good year and do not hesitate to contact us.
